Last updated: 1 October 2026.

This notice describes the current Ready Enough UK service. It will be updated if we add features such as analytics, advertising or marketing technology.

Who is responsible for the site?

Ready Enough UK is responsible for the personal information described on this page.

For privacy or data-protection questions, please use our contact form and select Privacy / data protection.

What information do we collect?

You can read guides, use the readiness check and use the calculator without creating an account.

If you sign in, we store your email address, the external-provider identity needed to recognise your Ready Enough UK account, and the preparedness items you choose to save to your account. Inventory records include the item, quantity and the time the record was last updated.

Ready Enough UK does not create or store a separate site password for your account, and we do not receive your Google, Microsoft or Facebook password. Authentication is handled by the provider you choose.

The web server or hosting platform may also process normal technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as request times, IP addresses, browser information and error details.

External sign-in

Ready Enough UK currently supports sign-in with Google, Microsoft and Facebook. When you choose one of these providers, that provider handles the authentication process and supplies Ready Enough UK with the account information needed to identify you and complete sign-in.

Your use of Google, Microsoft or Facebook sign-in is also subject to that provider's own privacy information and account settings. Ready Enough UK does not store provider passwords or expose provider secrets or access tokens through your account page.

Anonymous checklist storage

If you use a checklist without signing in, Ready Enough UK stores your ticked items in your browser's local storage. This lets the checklist remember your choices on that device. Those anonymous checklist choices are not sent to the Ready Enough UK database unless you later sign in and use the account-backed inventory.

You can remove local checklist data using your browser's controls for clearing site data.

Cookies and similar storage

Ready Enough UK uses authentication and security cookies when they are needed to sign you in, keep your session secure and protect forms. We also use browser local storage for the anonymous checklist feature described above.

Google, Microsoft or Facebook may use cookies on their own services while handling the external sign-in process. Ready Enough UK does not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking pixels or third-party marketing cookies at launch. There is therefore no general-purpose “accept all cookies” banner on the current site.

If non-essential tracking or advertising technology is added later, this page and the site's consent controls will be updated before that technology is used.

Why do we use personal information?

Account and inventory data are used to provide the service you request: recognising your account, signing you in and remembering your saved preparedness inventory. Technical and security information may be used to keep the service reliable, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and protect accounts.

How long do we keep it?

Account and saved inventory information is kept while the account remains active. If an account is deleted, account-linked inventory will be deleted with it unless information must be retained for a legal reason.

Anonymous checklist data remains in the browser until you clear it or the browser removes it. Server logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for operation, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

Who do we share information with?

Personal information is not sold to advertisers. Information may be processed by the infrastructure services used to run, secure, and deliver Ready Enough UK and its database, only as required to provide the service. Google, Microsoft, or Facebook processes information when you choose that provider for authentication.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to some uses of it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how personal information is handled.
